We were lucky enough to visit and have a personal tour of the Ercol factory and head quarters in Princes Risborough this Summer.

The building itself, designed by Horden Cherry Lee, 2002, is simply stunning, situated to frame views of the surrounding woodland through glass curtain walling.

The factory provides good working conditions to it’s 190 odd member of staff, many of whom have been with the company all their lives, like their parents before them. We saw stacks of wood, mainly elm, beech and oak, vast ovens and metal moulds for steam bending, kiln drying units, CNC machines, hand sanding, spraying and polishing of water-borne colours and lacquers; clean and good for the environment; then more hand sanding if required before final QC and boxing ready for delivery.

We are delighted to be able to show Ercol’s latest edition to their range, the Von armchairs (which are so comfortable) in our Brixton studio later this month, along with Ercol Original nest of tables and coffee table in black, and a 2 seat Marino sofa. Do come and visit, it would be great to see you and for you to try these iconic designs fro yourself.
